A New Season

It’s 10pm. I’m sitting on my porch finishing my last “summer book” while my kids are asleep, resting up for their 1st day of the 2016/17 school year.

Vision is a funny thing

Last Sunday my 8 year old son sat in on “big church” because he didn’t feel the best, so whether he liked it or not, he had to sit through daddy’s sermon:) As we sat to dinner later that night to celebrate Mothers Day, he started to tell his sisters about his experience. I braced […]

When Sunday Bleeds Into Monday

Today was unexpectedly beautiful out. When I woke up this morning I was expecting a gloomy rain filled day, so I prepared myself to be indoors with my kids post school. As 3:30 came around and I began to pray that God would allow me to be a great parent when my kids got off the bus. At 3:45 they came through the door, with a neighborhood friend in tow… not what I was expecting or prepared for. Thankfully this friend was easy (as are most our neighborhood friends) and I could continue to work as they played.

Meet the Elders | Chris DeStratis

Hello, my name is Chris DeStratis and I’m happy to tell you a little bit about my family, my life, and my church. In the end, they are all one and the same. 2016 will mark 12 years of marriage for Kim and I, and also 8 years at Crossbridge. We moved to Logan Twp from Mt. Ephraim at the end of 2007 and spent the next 6 months visiting churches in the area, but also resting, after serving in various ways at our previous church.

Earning Favor

My wife is hard at work today(Monday). I know Monday’s are a CRAZY long day for her so I do my best to make sure when she gets home “all is right” with the house. That may seem easy for many, but I’m not naturally a super organized person. So up till about 3:40, our house looks really good (outside of my office space where it looks like someone threw a ticker tape parade for my books). That all changes the moment our 3 kids get off the bus…

Meet the Elders | Jeremy Humble

A little over five years ago my wife of 9 years (14 years now), Denise, and I were looking for a church that was closer to Logan Township. We had moved a few years earlier and we wanted to be involved with a church that was part of our community, served the people in our […]

When Sunday Isn’t What You Expected

It’s about noon as I write this. On the average Sunday this is about the time I’m transitioning mentally from greeting guests and families to tearing down all that’s involved in having a portable church.

Before this storm hit on Friday/Saturday I found myself on Thursday in communication with Danielle about if church would actually happen. My Thursdays usually consist of lots of studying and finishing the the writing for Sundays message. This week was no different, until Danielle called with the news that Kingsway was closing for the weekend and we wouldn’t be able to have service.

Fit for Life | Emotional

When I was in high school and college, I loved to run and almost always at night. I’d find myself heading out for numerous miles just to clear my head and try to process through all that had happened that day. But over the last couple of years (since kids), I’ve not really made this a priority in my life, so like many, I approached 2016 with a fitness goal: run 365 miles.
